You don’t need to know what to do in front of the camera or worry about getting everyone to cooperate perfectly. I’ll help you prepare before your session and give you direction when you need it, so you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands, where to stand, or how to get your kids to participate.
Once we’re together, there’s room for everyone to just be themselves. Kids can move, personalities can come out, and things don’t have to go perfectly to make great photographs. I’ll guide you into the moments that need a little direction while leaving space for the real interactions, connection, laughter, and chaos that make your family yours.
The result is a mix of beautiful portraits and genuine moments that feel natural instead of overly posed, with photographs that actually look and feel like the people you love.
Families change in a hundred little ways before you even realize it. A new baby arrives, toddlers become big kids, personalities grow, and suddenly the things that felt completely ordinary are different.
Family, maternity, and motherhood sessions give you a reason to step into the frame and document this part of your life as it really is. Not just the milestones, but the relationships, expressions, and little details that make this season yours.
You’re there for the everyday moments, the milestones, the scraped knees, the belly laughs, and everything in between. But when you look back through your camera roll, you might realize just how often you’re the one taking the picture instead of being in it.
This is your chance to change that. To get in the frame with your babies, whether they’re still growing inside you, curled up in your arms, or suddenly not so little anymore. These photographs aren’t about everything being perfect. They’re about making sure your kids have photographs with you in them, too.
You Belong in the Photos, Too
Motherhood sessions are created specifically for moms and their children, with themed sessions and thoughtfully designed setups available throughout the year on my property. These sessions give you something a little different from a traditional family session while keeping the focus on the connection between you and your kids. Whether they’re still tiny or growing up much faster than you expected, it’s a chance to step into the photographs and create something together that you’ll both get to keep.
However, due to the massive amount of rain 9-16-2026, and the amount of mosquitos and mud, sessions on the property are on hold at the moment. We can do them elsewhere though!
Pregnancy changes quickly, and it can be hard to imagine just how much you’ll want to remember once your baby is here. Your maternity session is a chance to slow down and document this chapter, whether you’re expecting your first baby or adding another little one to your family. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. I’ll guide you through it so you can simply enjoy the experience.
Family sessions are about more than getting everyone together for one perfect photograph. I want to capture the personalities, relationships, laughter, and little moments that show what life with your family feels like right now. I’ll guide you when you need it, but there’s plenty of room for kids to be kids and for the unexpected moments to happen.
You don’t have to show up with perfectly behaved kids or know exactly what to do in front of the camera. I’ll guide you throughout the session, but instead of spending the entire time putting everyone into stiff poses, I’ll give you things to do together that create movement, connection, and real emotion.
Your kids can play, explore, laugh, cuddle, and show me who they actually are. If they need a minute, we’ll give them a minute. If something unexpected happens, we’ll work with it instead of trying to force everything back into a perfect pose. I’ll still make sure we create the beautiful family portraits you want, but some of my favorite photographs will come from everything that happens in between.
Before your session, I’ll also send you a clothing guide to take the stress out of figuring out what everyone should wear, so you can arrive feeling prepared and ready to enjoy your time together.
Southern Arizona gives us so many different places to photograph your family without every session looking the same. We can head into the desert surrounded by saguaros, find an open space where the kids can run, wander through a historic Tucson neighborhood, or use the architecture and color of the city as our backdrop. The location should fit your family and the kind of photographs you want to create.
I’ll help you narrow down the options based on your family, the season, and the overall feel you’re drawn to. You don’t need to already have the perfect location figured out when you reach out.
Beautiful photographs don’t require a remote desert location. Maybe your family feels more at home exploring city streets, you love the character of Tucson’s Presidio neighborhood, or you want wide-open desert and mountain views. We can choose somewhere that gives us the right setting while still allowing everyone to relax, move around, and enjoy the session.
If you have little kids who need room to explore, we’ll keep that in mind. If you’re planning a maternity session, we can choose somewhere beautiful without making you hike halfway up a mountain at 32 weeks pregnant. I photograph sessions throughout Southern Arizona and will help you find a location that makes sense for you.
I’m an Arizona photographer, Tucson native, and someone who believes the best photographs usually happen somewhere between the ones we planned. I’ve been behind the camera since 2009, and after years of photographing people through some of the biggest seasons of their lives, I’ve learned that a little direction goes a long way, but perfection is never required.
I want you to feel comfortable enough to laugh, play with your kids, love on your people, and forget about the camera for a while. I’ll take care of the direction and pay attention to all the little moments happening along the way.
Family, maternity, and motherhood sessions are $425. Your session is designed to give us time to create the portraits you want while leaving plenty of room for movement, play, and the moments that happen naturally along the way.
After your gallery is delivered, you’ll also have the option to order professional prints and wall art directly through your gallery shop if you’d like to turn your favorite photographs into something you can enjoy beyond the screen.
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can take place throughout Southern Arizona, and we’ll choose a location that works for the look and experience we’re creating. I also offer themed motherhood sessions and setups on my property in Willcox throughout the year, giving moms and their children something a little different from a traditional family session.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
Around 30–34 weeks is ideal for maternity photos. At this point, your belly is beautifully defined while you’re typically still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. I recommend reaching out earlier in your pregnancy so we can get your session on the calendar for that window.
What should we wear?
You won’t have to figure that out completely on your own. After booking, you’ll receive my clothing guide to help with colors, coordinating outfits, textures, and putting everyone together without feeling overly matched. The goal is for your family to look cohesive while still looking like yourselves.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
That’s completely normal, and I don’t expect kids to sit still and smile at the camera for an entire session. I’ll give your family direction and things to do together so your kids can move, play, explore, and warm up at their own pace. Some of the best photographs happen when we stop worrying about everyone being perfectly behaved.
